Dwan’s Story

Born in upstate New York, he was the heart of a boisterous family of eight. Four sisters and two brothers grew up together, their childhood a symphony of laughter and shared experiences. He was a confidante, a protector, a friend. His younger brother, awestruck by his wisdom, sought his counsel, always finding solace in his brother's patient ear.

His nephews adored him, their faces lighting up whenever he entered the room. Moving away was a wrenching separation, but his daily calls, filled with concern and love, bridged the distance. He was their constant, their anchor, always there with a helping hand and a listening ear.

To his nieces, he was a hero, a king who treated them like princesses. Their love for him was boundless, a reflection of the tenderness and affection he showered upon them. Living under the same roof for a lifetime, his sisters knew a love like no other. He protected them with fierce loyalty, each sister cherished in her own unique way.

He played with them, teased them, and guided them with a wisdom that often left his younger sister wondering, "Why me?" Yet, his advice, once met with a sigh, now echoes through her life, a comforting presence as she navigates motherhood. Especially poignant is the smile of her son,

born on his brother's birthday, a mirror image of the joy that once lit up his face. He adored his parents, his father was a tireless worker whose dedication to family instilled in him a strong work ethic and a desire to provide. His mother, though a constant source of advice, always respected his own path, even as her heart ached with worry.

He made his own choices, and though she knows it was God who ultimately called him home, the ache of his absence is a constant, a love that transcends even death. He was a brother, a son, an uncle, a friend. His life, though tragically short, was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. He will forever be missed.
